On October 29th, 2012, New York City was hit by one of the most damaging hurricanes in recorded U.S. history. Staten Island was one of the most affected areas. A large portion of our shore line was destroyed, thousands of residents were impacted, and innumerable homes were damaged and destroyed. In the weeks following the storm, Staten Island was nationally recognized for not only the damage it had suffered, but for the way the community rallied to support affected neighbors. Within hours after the storm, dozens of satellite help centers were formed on streets, parking lots and in homes to collect clothing, organize cleaning efforts, charge cell phones, animal shelters, and provide hot food.

The Think Design Architecture team witnessed the devastation in our streets firsthand and was truly moved. We want to continue to provide support to our community and are proud to announce Construct RELIEF.

*Construct RELIEF is a non-profit corporation with a mission to reconstruct homes for the victims of Hurricane Sandy. We are asking for not only monetary donations from anyone who can help, but also inviting construction industry contractors, workers, and companies to donate material and their valuable time.

Families who want to be considered for the no cost construction projects will need to submit a Home Build application. Building and Design companies or construction industry professionals interested in contributing materials or volunteering can submit an Industry Donation application.
